Available CoursesThis is a two-quarter sequence of practical accounting. In the first quarter, students will learn the accounting cycle, accounting office procedures, terminology, and computerized accounting for a service business. Students will be able to prepare simple financial statements for a sole-proprietorship. The second quarter presents merchandising and manufacturing concepts, different forms of business ownership, and accounts payable/receivable management. Students learn to use more advanced features of computerized accounting. This course is available to beginning and advanced keyboarding students, who will learn to use the keyboard by touch and will work towards fluency, accuracy, and speed. Office Procedures presents the methods, concepts, and procedures for efficient and effective business office operation. This course provides students with grammar, vocabulary, and spelling review, as well as proofreading and editing skills for a variety of business documents. Letter and report formats are included. This is a two-quarter sequence course in word processing using Microsoft Word 2007. The first quarter covers beginning and intermediate word processing skills (letters, memos, tables, & reports). This course focuses on effectively using tools, themes, and templates. The second quarter covers advanced word processing and desktop publishing topics (brochures, directories, manuals, forms, and newsletters). Mail merge, collaboration, macros, and creating themes and templates are also included. Included here are my teaching philosophy statement, goals, college service activities, and links to work samples. I have included current professional development readings and plans.
